Contracts and rights assignment with creators
On this page
Yes. You don’t have to prepare contracts or request image rights assignments one by one: each creator accepts the rights assignment contract and HICARI’s terms of use when applying to a public request or accepting a private invitation.
What the contract covers
- Exclusive, worldwide assignment of the content to the brand it is created for.
- Unlimited organic use on the brand’s channels.
- Use in paid: 1 year for public requests and 3 months included for private requests, extendable to 6 months, 1 year or 2 years depending on the creator’s rates. More details in use in paid.
- The creator does not publish the video on their social media unless the brief requests it or the brand allows it.
- The creator guarantees that they have rights to the music and images they use (otherwise, they deliver the video without music) and the consent of the people who appear.
- Confidentiality regarding the collaboration.
- While the request is active and for the 30 days following delivery, the creator does not work with a direct competitor of the brand.
You can read the full terms at hicari.io.
If you’re an agency
You act on behalf of your client: the rights are held in the name of the brand the content is created for. Your agency is responsible for ensuring they are used according to the terms and may not reuse the videos for another client without prior written authorization from HICARI and the creator.
Payments and invoices
HICARI pays the creators and you receive an invoice from HICARI for each payment. You don’t have to register each creator as a supplier or collect their invoices at the end of the month. You can find this information in invoices and billing details.
Do you need anything else?
| You need… | What to do |
|---|---|
| More time to use the content in ads | When the collaboration ends, request Extend paid rights (from 1 to 24 months, with the creator’s acceptance). See how. |
| Edit or adapt the video | Indicate it in the brief, in the editing instructions. See how. |
| A use not covered by the standard terms | Write to us before launching the request through Support or at hola@hicari.io and we’ll review it with you. |
