What changes you can and can’t request
On this page
A review is for adjusting the video to what you agreed in the brief, not for changing the idea. The rule is simple: if what you’re requesting was in the brief, it’s included in the review; if it’s something new, it’s another video.
Changes you can request
- Reorder or trim shots.
- Correct subtitles, on-screen text or the name of the product or brand.
- Repeat a specific phrase or shot: incorrect pronunciation, a product that is barely visible, defective sound or lighting.
- Adjust the pace or duration to what the brief specified.
- Include something the brief requested that is missing: a key message, the call to action, a hook or a format.
- Remove or add minor elements.
Changes that aren’t included in a review
- Change the concept or approach of the video.
- Request a new script or messages that weren’t in the brief.
- A completely different style from the one agreed.
- Redo the video from scratch, in another location or with another product.
- Add scenes, formats or hooks that you didn’t request. Extra hooks and formats are contracted in the brief: see extra hooks and formats.
How to request changes properly
- Put all the changes in a single request. The included review covers the entire collaboration, with all its videos.
- Be specific: which video, at what point, what to change and how. For example: «Video 2, second 8: the label says “Cafe Aurora”; correct it to “Cafés Aurora”».
- Refer to the brief: «The brief requested showing the packaging in the first 3 seconds, and it doesn’t appear».
- Keep your tone friendly and respectful. A good explanation prevents a second round.
From the second review onward, the creator decides whether to do it at no cost or request payment, which you confirm before paying. We explain this in Video review.
If you need something new
- Discuss it with the creator via chat: you may be able to agree on a small adjustment.
- Request another video with Launch private brief from their profile.
- Or use Duplicate in My requests to reuse the brief and change only what’s necessary. See managing your requests.
