Public or private request: which one to choose
On this page
With a public request, you publish the brief and choose from the creators who apply; with a private request, you invite a specific creator directly. If this is your first time using HICARI, start with a public request.
Comparison
| Aspect | Public request | Private request |
|---|---|---|
| Who participates | Creators who meet the minimum level and targeting apply; you choose | The creator you invite from their profile |
| Number of creators | 1 to 100 per request | One per request |
| Price | Based on the minimum level, duration, and extras, multiplied by the number of creators. If you choose a higher-level creator, you pay the difference | Based on the creator’s level, duration, and extras |
| Response | Does not expire: it remains open until you fill the spots | The creator has 72 hours to accept or reject |
| Delivery date | Today or any later date | At least 7 days from today |
| Organic use | Unlimited | Unlimited |
| Use in Paid | 1 year from approval | 3 months included, extendable to 6 months, 1 year, or 2 years according to the creator’s rates |
| Chat before starting | You can talk to candidates before choosing | The creator can write to you before accepting |
| If it doesn’t work out | It remains open; you can edit or cancel it and recover the balance | If the creator rejects it or does not respond, the balance is returned and you can invite another creator |
For both types, when the request has ended and included use in Paid, you can extend it with Extend Paid rights. We explain this in extending Paid rights.
When each option is right for you
Public request
- It’s your first time and you want to compare profiles before deciding.
- You need several creators with the same brief, for example, to test different ads.
- You want a campaign: for creators to publish the video on their profile as well as delivering it to you.
- You want to move quickly: when applying, the creator already accepts the brief and contract, so they can start as soon as you choose them.
Private request
- You already know who you want to work with or want to work again with a creator you liked.
- You’re looking for a very specific profile (appearance, city, languages, pets, or recording equipment) and have already found them using the filters.
- You want to set Paid for more than 1 year from the start (up to 2 years, if the creator offers it).
Can I have several private requests at the same time?
Yes. You can invite several creators at once, each with their own private request, and combine them with public requests.
Do I have to reject the candidates I don’t choose?
No. There is no reject button: you choose as many people as you want until you fill the spots, and the rest simply aren’t selected.
What happens if the creator I invited through my private request doesn’t respond?
After 72 hours, the invitation expires, the balance returns to your available balance, and you can invite another creator. We explain it in what to do if a creator rejects your invitation.
Which one is cheaper?
It depends on the level. With a public request, you pay the price of the minimum level you choose (plus the difference if you select someone at a higher level); with a private request, you pay the price of the level of the creator you invite.
Once you’re clear, follow the guide to create your request step by step.
